Hard to pick a favourite track on this album, It is an extremely cohesive piece of work.
I am very taken with this band, indeed I feel the same about a few recent Heidens Heart releases. Aside from the influential markers the band themselves site, I’m getting a very strong flavour of Odal and early Abigor, maybe earliest Borknagar.
This is just a brilliant example of legitimate and couth black metal. Riff after riff, stunning bass, acoustic instrumentation, present and appropriate drumming. Hroðulf

This makes me want to drink copious amounts of beer whilst partying in a tiny mosh pit. Carpathian Forest springs to mind. Terrible live band, but one of the first Norwegian black metal bands that clearly incorporated the punk sound in their music. Whenever a black metal band doesn't shy away from the punk/crust forefathers of their genre, a fun record ensues. Fun? Black metal can be FUN?! Hell yes! Bloedarend

"Vlammenzee" is utterly ferocious. I keep revisiting this over and over again. Only after six minutes, you're allowed some room to unwind from the raging inferno (pun intended, if you're Dutch) by a quiet, semi-acoustic breeze. Make sure to take a few minutes to catch your breath when you're done listening to this dense EP. Bloedarend
